Delicate Arch is an amazing arch that is iconic in representing Utah. It can be viewed from a distance from this wheelchair accessible viewpoint.

This trail is only partially paved, but is tightly packed and completely flat to the lower viewpoint.

You can see Delicate Arch in the distance as you walk about 200 feet.

There is also an explanation about why some of the soil is green. Typically iron is what gives red rock its red color, but apparently if it was underwater, it reacted differently and turned green.

This viewpoint shows the backside of Delicate Arch. If you hike the 3.2 miles to Delicate Arch you see the opposite side.

If you have some time you can hike up a half mile round trip to the higher viewpoint. Sunset was approaching and I wanted to catch it elsewhere so I didn’t hike up to it, but it is up a hill.
