The Erindell Trail is a lesser known hiking and mountain biking trail along Kyhv Peak Road. It is especially beautiful in September when the leaves are vibrant colors!
I’m not sure who named it, but Erindell is a little reminiscent of Elsa and Anna’a Arendelle or the Lord of the Ring’s character Eärendil.

Directions
Two miles from the base of Provo Canyon there is a turn off for Kyhv Peak Road that heads south through the foothills. When you are nearly to the Kyhv Peak Overlook there is a “T” intersection. Park there on the shoulder to begin from the lower end of Erindell Trail.

The trail rises steeply from the road and then becomes just a gentle incline.

Then the trail winds through the oaks.

The fall colors are beautiful!

Soon you come over the level of the trees to spectacular views of the fall foliage and Utah Lake.

The views are so stunning!

You can also look down and see the Kyhv Peak Road.

The views of the surrounding mountains are pretty too!

The trees aren’t very tall here, but it’s pretty.

The trail is interspersed between shady areas and more open ones.

There are some small meadows.

This isn’t really a destination hike, but rather just a nice pathway throughout. I did see a hawk fly overhead, a few wildflowers and of course the lovely fall leaves!

My favorite views were actually about 10-15 minutes into the hike.

The wildflowers in mid-late June are gorgeous too!

If you want to extend this you can continue below along the Upper Quito Trail, Quito Trail, and Quito’s Incline. You can also follow it further uphill towards Buffalo Peak.
