Ferguson Canyon, south of Big Cottonwood Canyon, starts out the first 0.3 mile with only a gradual incline and is great for all ages and pets are allowed. About 0.6 mile in there are rock climbing spots. Up until this point it’s pretty easy and then the further you get into the canyon, it gets much steeper.

Ferguson Canyon Trailhead
Ferguson Canyon trailhead has about 15 parking spots, but on a busy Saturday they may all fill. Parking along the street isn’t allowed in some places, so check signs.

The first half mile of the trail is nearly flat. That makes it great for families or others who want an easy trail. There are people walking their dogs too. There are pretty city views about few minutes into the trail.

You get a view of the entrance of Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Soon you leave the open space and enter further into Ferguson Canyon.

The fall leaves are beautiful.

After the rock climbing area, it gets a bit steeper. If you want to continue check out this post.
