Hobble Creek Canyon is a lovely canyon and scenic drive near Springville, just south of Provo, Utah that is especially stunning in the fall. It is great for fishing, camping, hiking, and other recreation.
Directions
From I-15 take exit 260 and then head east on 400 South through Springville. At the roundabout take Canyon Road until it enters Hobble Creek Canyon on the east end of Springville and Mapleton. Just before the entrance you will pass Bartholomew Park and Reservoir.
As you enter the canyon there is a dam creating Hobble Creek Reservoir where there is fishing and recreation during the run off. Later in the year it dwindles.
About three miles up Hobble Creek Canyon the road splits into a Right Fork and Left Fork. Just before it is Hobble Creek Golf Course. There are three parks near the junction: Kelly’s Grove, Rotary (Left Fork), and Jolley’s Ranch (Right Fork).
Jolley’s Ranch has a barn, disc golf course and it’s a beautiful place to watch Hobble Creek.
Seven miles beyond the junction on Right Fork you get to the trailhead for Wardsworth Trail. This is a peaceful trail that is adjustable in length (1-6 easy/moderate miles).
The Left Fork of Hobble Creek Canyon actually connects to Khyv Peak Road, a dirt road that that connects Hobble Creek with Provo Canyon.
