An enormous flag is hanging in Grove Creek Canyon in Pleasant Grove! It’s over 1/4 acre in size! It’s 150 feet long and each star is 6 feet across! This huge flag weighs more than 400 lbs!
For this year’s info click here:
It was created by an organization called Follow the Flag. They also hang a flag in Coldwater Canyon in North Ogden in November! These flags are the largest over flown!
From the parking lot they have all of the state flags leading the way up to the giant American flag. The walk up to the flag is very short, maybe 400 feet.
We walked up above it so that we could look down the canyon and get the view of the city and Utah Lake behind it. We still only walked less than 1/3 mile round-trip.
These flags will only be hanging from the morning of July 4 through the morning of July 13, so be sure to go soon. We went at 8:30 am this morning. We saw others, but it wasn’t very crowded. They shine a spotlight on it at night.
If you are hoping for more of an actual hike you can continue up Grove Creek Canyon to the falls or meadow. Battle Creek Falls and The Pleasant Grove “G” are also nearby.
