Slot canyons are so much fun and Little Wild Horse Canyon is a great one for all ages! This is very close to Goblin Valley, between Green River and Hanksville so include them both in the same trip.

The trail begins behind the restrooms and walks through a wash until the canyon walls start to rise.

The walls are textured and wavy for the first part of the canyon.

Then the canyon opens up again for a little bit.

Then the canyon gets even more narrow. There are sections to narrow to pass, so at the wider sections people wait a few minutes to take turns.

This hike can be done as giant loop through both Little Wild Horse and Bell Canyons at 8 miles. Most people do it as a there and back so it can be however long you’d prefer. Little Wild Horse Canyon is 3.6 miles end to end, so just walk in a few miles or how long you want and then turn around.

You are likely to a lizard or two.

This is close to Goblin Valley and isn’t too far from “Mars” or Capitol Reef .
