Maybird Gulch to Maybird Lakes is far less-traveled than other trails nearby, but it is worth exploring for it’s incredible mountain views, quaint lakes and right now the wildflowers are showing off!

This trail begins at the same trailhead as family-friendly Gloria Falls and longer Red Pine Lake and White Pine Lake trails.  All four trails follow the same path for the first 0.9 mile and then White Pine heads off to the left.  After one more switchback Gloria Falls heads upstream to the falls and Red Pine and Maybird Gulch to Maybird Lakes continue along the same path.  There are beautiful views and wildflowers.

Two and a half miles into this fairly easy trail, there is a bridge that heads off to the right.  Take it to head to Maybird Lakes.  Continue straight to head to Red Pine Lake.  After the bridge the trail gets significantly steeper. It also becomes covered in wildflowers in full splendor!

The higher you get the more impressive the mountain views!  This incredible view is called Maybird Gulch.

About 3/4 of a mile in, the trail turns the corner and instead of those views, you shortly get a view of Pfeifferhorn.  There are also so many more flowers!

There are two small, shallow lakes nestled below the north side of Pfeifferhorn.  Even though they aren’t as large as Red Pine, they are still lovely.  These photos are taken from the same point, standing between the lakes.
