Memory Grove is in downtown Salt Lake and a great place to take a walk. It has beautiful memorials, grassy areas and a nature trail in City Creek Canyon. Sometimes you don’t have to go far to see the snowy beauty. Here is a list of key events and memorials in the park.

I love seeing the beautiful way that the memorials honor those who sacrificed their lives.

Just beyond the memorials begins the Freedom Trail that follows City Creek into City Creek Canyon.

Some type of traction is always recommended in the winter, but it’s possible to skip the micro-spikes places like this since it’s mostly flat.

There are various options about how far to go with occasional bridges to cross to the paved road if you don’t want to return the way you came.

The paved road is private, so there aren’t many cars. These photos are looking opposite directions. Everything looks so pretty flocked in snow!

Memory Grove is next door to the Utah State Capitol. My favorite time to go there is during the spring when the cherry blossoms are blooming!
