The family-friendly Paper Airplane Trail has incredible views and abundant wildflowers in Powder Mountain Ski Resort east of Ogden, Utah!

Directions

The Paper Airplane Trail is located in Powder Mountain Ski Resort, at 7485 Horizon Run Rd, Eden, UT 84310.

The parking area is kind of small and both sides of the street only allow for about seven cars. If you see the ski run signs for Woody’s World and Horizon Run you are in the right place.

That trail heading off to the left of my kids is Horizon Run, but we want to go the other way. Go to the corner by the guardrail and you will see the trail. This trail is opposite of most, because you will go downhill to the Paper Airplane and then back up to the parking area, but it isn’t too steep.

As you wind through the aspens and wildflowers (if in season) you will soon come to a tree house lookout. Here is the view of it from below.

Here is the view looking out. Do you see the Paper Airplane sculpture in the distance?

Continuing on the trail the wildflowers are amazing in July and August!

Powder Mountain is popular with mountain bikers so keep an eye out. The few we saw were very courteous. There is only one place where the trail splits, but it is well-marked which route to take. So many glorious wildflowers are blooming right now (pictures taken 8/4/23).

Soon you approach the paper airplane.

Kids can play on the airplane which they loved!

There are beautiful views and more wildflowers!

We also saw birds and butterflies on the trail.
