Sand Harbor is classic picturesque Lake Tahoe! It is very beautiful, with soft sand, large boulders, and that amazing blue-green water. Sand Harbor is on the northeast corner of Lake Tahoe, on the Nevada side.
Sand Harbor Beach
Sand Harbor is one of my favorite beaches! It is so picturesque! On the left side of the beach there is sand. My kids loved playing, swimming, and even snorkeling in clear waters.
Sand Harbor Boulders
To the right side of Sand Harbor there is a little boardwalk that leads around to the boulders. You can climb along the boulders to get to more of the beach.
The girls loved climbing on the boulders.
You can also play in the water, looking for lizards and crawfish.
Sand Harbor Diver’s Cove
To the far right end of Sand Harbor, farther right then the boulder below, is Diver’s Cove. There is a beginner scuba dive site that is 30 feet deep and beyond that there is a drop off that goes down hundreds of feet!
Sand Harbor is opposite from Emerald Bay State Park in the southwest corner, but it’s only a little over an hour away and worth the time to explore. Here is the link on the hike down to Vikingholm on the beach and this is of the sunrise above.
