The Telegraph Trail is a great little foot trail that meanders through the scrub oak and maples in Corner Canyon.

There are frequent views of Lone Peak and Utah Lake and a cute little bench near the bottom. This trail begins at the same trailhead as Alien Tower and Deer Ridge Off Leash Area. This trail also allows dogs, but on a leash. My daughter dubbed this the “seasons trail” because the leaves were so many different colors. When we were in the red and green section is was “Christmas”, etc.

It looks nice and green in May and June and then starts to dry out. The spring photos were taken at the start of May, the summer photos in late June and the fall ones in mid-October.

The trail makes many switchbacks down the mountainside, but it isn’t very steep and suitable for most.

It is beautiful in the late spring as well.

By late summer the leaves have filled out on the trees.

The fall leaves really are beautiful!

The wildflowers in spring and early summer are also very pretty!

This trail got it’s name from the row of telegraph poles that runs nearby. You never are all that close to the poles, but you can see them.

There are frequent opportunities to get beautiful views to the south into Utah County.

There are two spots along the trail that it meets with another trail. You will want to make a sharp U-turn to continue on the correct trail. Mountain bikes frequent the alternate trail. If you just remember to take the switchbacks zig-zagging the mountain, you’ll know where to go. everything is very well marked.

When you get near the bottom you can walk though the grass and flowers.

There is a little bridge and then a cute bench with the trees all around.

In the summer you can hear the Putnam’s Cicadas clicking in the trees. I love iridescent insects and so this Rusty Spider Wasp a cool find. It left before I got a clear photo, but you can still see the colors.
