Great Smoky Mountain National Park
Great Smoky Mountain National Park is the number one most visited park in the country! With it’s misty forests and amazing wildlife it’s easy to see why. First of all, it is absolutely beautiful! It is also one of the few that are FREE! It is in eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina.
Fall Leaves
We were there in October and it was stunning with the fall leaves! We even got to see some of it’s namesake mist!
Wild Life
The Great Smokies are also know for wildlife! We saw black bears, white-tailed deer, and elk while we were there.

Cades Cove
One of the most famous sections of Great Smoky Mountain National Park is Cades Cove. It is an 11-miles scenic loop with wildlife and history. Here are a few photos, but to read more see this post on Cades Cove.
Laurel Falls
We also hiked to beautiful Laurel Falls as a family. Here are a few photos from that hike. Click here for the post on Laurel Falls.
I would love to take a trip to spend at least a week hiking all over the Great Smokies! It is such a beautiful place! Have you ever been?
While you are in the neighborhood drive along the gorgeous Blue Ridge parkway!
